Rebecca Peerson, Education Director
Rebecca Peerson comes to Right to Life with a unique clinical perspective and experience within the pro-life movement. For over three of her ten years of honorable service as a FMF Corpsman in the US Navy, Rebecca volunteered her time as a SAVI Advocate. The SAVI program was established by the DOJ to provide a standardized, consistent, victim-sensitive system to prevent and respond to sexual assaults. The program not only provides awareness and preventive education to prevent sexual assaults, but also offers victim advocacy and intervention services to promote a sensitive, coordinated and effective management of sexual assault cases. SAVI advocates are trained to respond with compassion and understanding for all victims of sexual assault. Her work within the program was incredibly beneficial to her growth as a Pro-Life advocate. After leaving active duty service Rebecca worked for several years in the field of nursing before leaving the workforce to raise her children. Although Rebecca had a great desire to remain a stay-at-home mom her passion to defend and fight for the innocence of the unborn and the preservation of dignity in humanity for all led her to re-enter the workforce full time working with Right to Life.
Rebecca is married to Mike Peerson, a native of Fresno with strong ties to our local community and they have two children; Brayden Patrick and Ethan Michael and a stepdaughter Sophia Lynn. They attend Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fresno, Rebecca is passionate about using her experience to benefit the mission of the Right to Life Organization while sharing educational and thought-provoking information on the principle belief that all human life is sacred and worth value.
Rebecca holds several nursing certifications, along with numerous military awards and ribbons. She is a co-chair of the Women’s Guild at Holy Spirit Parish, a member of the Catholic Professionals Business Club, and an outspoken Conservative Feminist. In her spare time Rebecca enjoys spending time with her children, her two dogs and her best friend and partner in life; her husband Mike.
Marcos is first and foremost a husband and father. He has four beautiful children with his wife Belen, their names are: Elias, Miabella, Kiara and Francisco. Marcos holds a BS degree and a MA degree in Kinesiology from Fresno State University. His respect for life and the human body is expressed by this quote: “I have always been amazed by the human body and its amazing capabilities. Our human bodies were ultimately made to honor God. None of which could be possible without the right to life.”
Marcos has been involved with youth ministry in both Spanish and English speaking groups for over 16 years at St. Joachim Catholic church in Madera. (his home parish) He has spoken at many youth and adult groups throughout the valley on various aspects of the faith including the pro-life position. For the past eight years, he and his wife Belen have been involved with the Theology of the Body ministry at their parish, where he and his wife educate and encourage our youth to live their sexuality in God’s plan. Through this ministry he has become more in touch with the pro-life movement. He has gained a great passion for the pro-life cause and hopes to do his best in helping out RLCC in its efforts to defend life.
Marcos enjoys spending time with his family especially playing soccer with son and dancing with his daughters. He also enjoys playing any sport that can get his heart rate going and playing the guitar.
